New Delhi, Oct 21: The home-grown terror-outfit, Indian Mujahideen (IM) co-founder Yasin Bhatkal alias Mohammed Ahmed Sidibapa, on Monday revealed to security agencies that the "IM is trying to turn into al Qaeda like terror network".

According to a report, Bhatkal, who was arrested by the security agencies from the Indo-Nepal border in August, told police that IM has close contacts with Pakistan's Tehreek-e-Taliban as well as with Pak's agency Inter-Services-Intelligence (ISI).

One of the most wanted terrorists, Bhatkal, also said that the main objective of IM is to implement Sharia in India, like in Afghanistan and Somalia.

Bhatkal said that the main objective of IM is to implement Sharia in India.

Bhatkal also disclosed that more than half a dozen IM recruits from north India went to Afghanistan to fight for the Taliban, but were killed.

While terming Indian and Pakistan governments as 'anti-Islamic' for showing disrespect to Sharia, Bhatkal claimed that IM is now working independently and not under the shadow of the ISI.
