Achanta Lakshmana Rao, contesting from Narasipatnam municipality, has cited elections laws to demand removal of ceiling fans, election symbol of YSR Congress, from the centres.
Rao, a former Naxal leader, is a practising lawyer. Talking to PTI today, the 79-year-old lawyer said he has made a written representation to the Commission with regard to this demand.
He said laws bar display of election symbols in polling stations and areas around their vicinity. Rao is contesting from ward No 9 of the municipality. Besides him, three other candidates, including those from TDP and YSR Congress, are in the fray.
