Andhra Pradesh, July 25: It has been two days since IAF's AN-32 aircraft went off-radar. While search operations are still on, family and friends of the missing personnel are inconsolable.
In such a situation, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met the families of the victims, assuring them that the defence authorities were making all efforts to trace the aircraft.
Eight employees of the NAD (Naval Armament Depot) who were on board the missing aircraft were chargeman B Samba Murthy, armament fitters Nagendra Rao, R V Prasad Babu, P Chandra Senapati, Charan Maharana, trademan mates Chinna Rao and G Srinivas Rao and examiner Bupender Singh.
The aircraft went off-radar minutes after it took off from the Tambram Air Force base in Chennai. The IAF transport aircraft was on its way to Port Blair. The technicians were going to carry out repair and maintenance work of Close Range Naval gun onboard INS Battimalv.
