Artists spin their magic at the National Tribal Carnival in New Delhi

Oct 26: In a major push to the tribal community, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first National Tribal Carnival in New Delhi on Tuesday. 

Modi, while inaugurating the carnival, said: "Tribal communities must get their rights. No one has the right to snatch the land of tribal communities."

About 1,600 tribal artists and around 8,000 tribal delegates from across the country will take part in the carnival. The carnival aims to promote the culture, traditions and skills of the tribals.

Activities like displaying documents on traditional socio-culture aspects, exhibition of art/artifacts, cultural performances, demonstration of skills like sports, paintings, traditional healing practices, etc. will be part of the four-day event.
