Bengaluru, March 22: Kusuma, wife of late IAS officer DK Ravi, has been admitted to hospital in Bengaluru on Saturday, March 21. According to sources, she has fallen sick due to exhaustion and stress.
Kusuma's father Hanumanthrayappa, a Congress leader, accused a newspaper of writing disturbing news about her personal life. He also threatened to file defamation case against the newspaper.
Hanumanthrayappa claimed that Kusuma has been suffering from stress ever since she read a news about her personal life.
35-year-old Ravi, a 2009-batch IAS officer, was found hanging from ceiling fan at his official residence in South Bengaluru on March 16. Initially, Bengaluru Police and Karnataka government claimed that it was a case of suicide.
However, Opposition leaders and aam aadmi (common man) refused to accept the suicide theory and claimed that Ravi was murdered. Opposition leaders claimed that Ravi might have become a victim at the hand of powerful people.
Demand for a CBI probe was discussed inside the state assembly. Massive protests were held in Bengaluru and across Karnataka. Finally, the state government handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
