Indian version for Indian needs: Hyderabad based-woman starts Rice Bucket Challenge!

Hyderabad, August 25: After the west-inspired ASL Ice Bucket Challenge got over recently, now the India has got its own version of charity called the Rice Bucket Challenge.

Taking a cue from west's Ice Bucket Challenge, Manju Latha Kalnidhi, a journalist from Hyderabad came up with a novel idea of donating rice to the needy and poor.

To promote the cause, she uploaded her pic on the social networking site Facebook on August 22 and challenged others to take it up.

Within hours, it went viral on social media. So, if you want to do your bit in charity, yet in a trendy way, then take up the #RiceBucketChallenge...the next big thing!

The 4 easy steps to take up the Rice Bucket Challenge are:

  • Pick up a bowl of rice from your kitchen.
  • Go to the nearest needy persons and give it to them.
  • Get your photo clicked and post it on Facebook or Twitter with hash tag #RiceBucketChallenge.
  • Tag your friends and ask them to take up the challenge.
