Hyderabad, Dec 7: He was truly inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Swachh Bharat mission. He believed India can become a "Clean India" if every citizen of the country determines to do so. But he was stabbed to death for the same.
26-year-old Afroz Bin Ahmed was killed in front of his wife and children. The incident took place in Hyderabad on Sunday, Dec 6.
It has reported that Ahmed stopped his neighbour Firoz Ahmed from dumping garbage in front of his house. The accused stabbed Ahmed who were engaged in a quarrel with the former.
According to sources, this was not the first time when the duo were engaged in a fight over dumping garbage. Despite several fights, family members of the accused used to dump garbage in front of the house of the victim.
The victim received serious injury in his abdomen and when he was rushed to a near by hospital, he was declared brought dead. Police filed a murder case against Firoz who currently is absconding.
Speaking about the case, a police inspector was quoted as saying, "Afroz used to live on the ground floor, while Firoz and his family lived on the first floor of the same building. Firoz and his family would throw their garbage down from the first floor. As the waste fell right in front of his house, the victim and his family used to protest. This used to often lead to quarrels between both parties."
"On Sunday afternoon, Firoz's wife again threw garbage from top and it fell in front of the victim's house. It lead to a heated argument between the wives of the accused and the victim. Afroz also joined the quarrel. Firoz, who was sleeping at that time, got up hearing his wife's complaint and went down for a confrontation with the victim. He was carrying a sharp object, either a knife or a screwdriver. He attacked the victim who collapsed in few seconds," added the police official.
