Qader had spoken to his brother Mohammad Abdul Qayum last month during which he had expressed the desire to return.
A few days back, Qayum had received a phone call saying that Qader had sustained burn injuries and was in critical condition.
Qader's sister told the media that they were informed that he had sustained injuries due to a cylinder blast.
"We were not informed or given details as to what had happened. We were earlier told that cylinder blast took place there," she said.
The Indian Embassy officials in Saudi Arabia have visited the hospital and police station. The police informed Embassy officials that Abdul Qader had an altercation with a Saudi national.
They said the case was under investigation.
According to reports, Qader was also not paid his salary for the past six months.
