Hyderabad: Woman sexually assaulted by husband's friend, commits suicide

by her husband's friend. She lodged complaint with police. But her husband suspected her fidelity and broke up with her.

The 24-year-old woman was depressed and committed suicide. The incident took place at Boya Basti in Madannapet in Hyderabad. The victim left a suicide note and hanged herself on Monday, Nov 3.

Her mother discovered her body hanging from ceiling an. The friend of the victim's husband has been identified as Jaydev Reddy. Police earlier had arrested him following the complaint filed by the victim. Later he was released on bail.

Despite Jaydev's arrest, victim's husband suspected her. The 24-year-old could not bear the pain and went into depression. Later she took the extreme step and ended her life.

Speaking about the case, K Venkat Ramana, Madannapet sub-inspector, said, "In the suicide note, she has written that she did not want to live anymore since she was depressed due to the past incidents."

The cops too confirmed that the victim in Oct 2014 had approached them complaining about Jaydev who was also her neighbour. Jaydev allegedly had grabbed her hand and misbehaved with her near her house.

The cop said, "Based on her complaint, we booked a case under IPC Section 354 for outraging the modesty of a woman, and sent him to judicial remand. He earned bail, and left Boya basti locking his house. Meanwhile, her husband sent her back to her house and broke up with her after which she went into depression."

Now, the police filed a case of abetment of suicide under IPC Section 506 as his action led to the series of incidents and the victim committed suicide.
