Hours before UP elections, 2 youths die in violent clash
Two people died after a violent clash broke out between two groups in a village in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.
Meerut (UP), Feb 11: Two youths were killed and four others were injured in a violent clash between two groups over a land dispute in Ghosipur village in Meerut on Friday, police said.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police J Ravinder, the clash took place late night between the groups where firearms were used.
The injured youths were admitted to a hospital where they died during treatment, he said.
Eight persons have been arrested in the incident, he said. Security has been tightened in the area, police added.
The incident took place few hours before the first phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections on Saturday.
