Dehradun, March 18: A day after Shaktiman, the police horse who was allegedly attacked by BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi was operated upon, Joshi's daughter has come out and slammed the media for 'sensationalising' the alleged attack.
Joshi's daughter said: "It is a witch hunt led by some sections of the media and the Congress party in the state. We are not worried but are confident that the truth will prevail."
Joshi's daughter came out in full support of her father and said that in all the videos and the photographs that have been circulating, not once did her father hit the horse. She said that her father was only trying to scare the horse by hitting the stick on the ground.
Meanwhile, Shaktiman was operated upon and his leg was amputated in a bid to save his life. Doctors said they were forced to amputate as they feared that Shaktiman would die of gangerene.
On the other hand, Joshi has been arrested and is charged with cruelty and maiming an animal. Joshi pleaded innocence and had said that he did not hit the horse. He said it was a consipracy by the state's ruling Congress party.
