Hopefully China would follow democracy soon: Dalai Lama
The 14th Dalai Lama had last week addressed the allegations of misconduct in Buddhist communities.
The Dalai Lama hopes that one day China would follow democracy. Eventually as per the wishes of the Chinese people, Communist Party of China may follow our practise of democracy, he said at an event in Delhi.
He further said that the small Tibetan community fully practices democracy and I am an admirer of it. Eventually Hidni-Chini Bhai Bhai is the only way. Two big nations will have to live side by side.
The 14th Dalai Lama had last week addressed the allegations of misconduct in Buddhist communities.
He said that ethical misconduct in Tibetan Buddhist monasteries was due to the influence of Tibet's traditional feudal system. He advised Buddhists not to indiscriminately accept whatever their teacher says.
China had reacted sharply recently ahead of a trip by the Dalai Lama to Arunchal Pradesh. This point was once again raised by India amidst the Doklam standoff. India said on Doklam that China had reacted similarly to the visit by Dalai Lama to Arunachal Pradesh, but the same went on peacefully.
