Jaipur, April 30: Eleven mentally unstable children have been declared dead in a home in a matter of 12 days. This home in Jamdoli recorded its first death on April 18. Two died on Thursday. However, sources say that eight more children are under treatment, out of which 3 have been admitted to SMS Medical college and the rest have been taken to J K Lon.
While doctors said that the two boys being treated at the SMS were out of danger, the 18-year old girl in the same hospital is still critical. Nurses struggle to locate her vein so that she could be administered saline water. For the two biys, a doctor said, "There was just one episode of vomiting with one of them, otherwise they seem to making good progress."
Meanwhile, the superintended of the home put entire blame on the hospital authorities and said that all the children had died in the hospital.
A report in a daily newspaper said that the children were living in unsuitable conditions.
Of the 200 inmates, 90 are girls and all of them are crammed in 3 rooms. However, doctors have said that the children have died due to dehydration as the children had complained of nausea and vomiting. Samples of soil and water from the home have been sent for testing.
