Jaitley challenges Cong for tv debate
New Delhi, Jan 1: The BJP leader Arun Jaitley challenged Congress to a television debate over Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh. "Instead of street demonstrations, is the Congress willing to debate on national television the charges against Virbhadra Singh", said Arun Jaitley.

Arun Jaitley was reacting to Youth Congress' protest in front of Rajnath Singh's house in Delhi on Wednesday. The National Student's Union of India protest was in response to the BJP attack on Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh. The BJP had accused the HP Congress government of corruption.

There is corruption within BJP itself, alleged the NSUI leaders. The BJP on Wednesday stepped up their attack on Virbhadra Singh who is accused of extending favours to power companies in the state.

"Arun Jaitley, a prominent lawyer of the country, has prepared a chargesheet with ample evidence against Virbhadra Singh", said BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday morning. Arun Jaitley in a press meet on Tuesday said that he had written to to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and marked a copy to CBI Director Ranjit Sinha making various allegations of corruption against Virbhadra Singh, including the accusation that he received bribes of over Rs. two crore from a private steel firm during his tenure as Union Steel Minister.
