A helicopter carrying Central Reserve Police Force's elite Commando Battalion for Resolute Action commandos crash-landed at Chintagufa in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.

According to reports, five occupants received minor injuries when the helicopter carrying 5 people, including crew members, crash- landed at Chintagufa near Sukma district.

Officials said two officers and a commando of the elite jungle warfare unit of the CoBRA were among five people who received injuries after the crash took place around 5:30 pm near the Chintagupha camp of the paramilitary force, deep in the Naxal hotbed of south Bastar.

Commando Battalion for Resolute Action is a specialised unit of the CRPF that was formed to counter Naxalism in India. It's one of the few Indian special forces, that's exclusively trained in guerrilla warfare.

Earlier today, at least ten Maoists were killed and five were injured in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district in retaliatory action by CRPF men after an attack on them in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district.

Hundreds of Maoists on Monday ambushed and massacred at least 25 CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district and escaped with their AK-47 assault rifles. The Central Reserve Police Force said the deadly ambush took place at 12.30 p.m. when its 74th Battalion reached a forested area in Kala Pathar near Chintagufa.
