The cyclonic storm, "Komen" has begun moving northwestwards of the Bay of Benga and as a result, over the next three days, heavy to very heavy rainfall will occur at the Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha while Mizoram, Tripura, south Assam and Jharkhand will be lashed by heavy showers on Thursday and Friday, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

"Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along the West Bengal and north Odisha coasts," it warned.

Meanwhile, the depression over west Rajasthan and Gujarat which caused incessant rain has weakened but rainfall in parts of Gujarat, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and west Madhya Pradesh will continue over the next two days.

Heavy rain will continue to lash Rajasthan during the next 24 hours, the IMD said.
