Heavy rains lash parts of Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Aug 5: Heavy rains lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh as monsoon remained active in the region. While Una, Bharwara and Dharamsala received 67 mm, 55 mm and 50 mm of rains respectively, state capital Shimla experienced intermittent showers - 31 mm.

Bangana and Kheri received 35 mm rains, followed by Berthin 31 mm, Mehre 28 mm, Sujanpur Tira 23 mm, Malraun 21 mm, Nahan 17 mm, Kandaghat, Kasauli and Mandi 15 mm each.

The local MeT office has predicted moderate to heavy rains at some places in mid and lower hills during next three days and heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places on August 8.

The maximum temperature dropped from 35 degree to 30 degree at Una which was drenched by rains while Bhuntar and Sundernagar recorded 32 degree and 30.3 degree Celsius followed by Solan 28.5 deg C Nahan 27.7 deg C, Dharamshala 26.8 deg C, Manali 22.6 deg C, Shimla 21.2 deg C and Kalpa 20.6 degree C. There was marginal changes in minimum temperatures which stayed close to normal.
