Rajahmundry (AP), May 2: Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of East Godavari and Guntur districts in coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Anantapuramu and Kurnool districts in Rayalaseema region of the state tomorrow, officials said.
Thunderstorms are likely in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Kurnool, Anantapuramu, Kadapa and Chittoor; Director, Disaster Management said in a press release here tonight.
Many parts of Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra Pradesh are very likely to record maximum temperatures in the range of 40-45 degree C.
Rains were recorded in some areas of the state in last 24 hours. Merakamudidam in Vizinagaram district recorded 1 cm, and Peapally (Kurnool district) 3 cm, while Gooty and Madakasira (Anantapur district) recorded 1 cm each.
The highest maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jangamaheswarapuram.
