Jat row: Commuters attacked, women sexually assaulted by goons

Chandigarh, Feb 24: Shocking details are coming out of the ongoing Jats agitation in Haryana that has left the administration in a tizzy.

A shocking incident has come to light where close to 30 men attacked commuters on the national highway in Murthal in Sonipat district and allegedly raped women.

Jat row: Women were dragged, assaulted

According to a report in The Tribune, atleast 10 women were forcibly dragged out and raped in the nearby fields.

The Haryana Police has dismissed the report and said that 'this is just a rumour' but eyewitnesses have a different story to tell.

The reports states that 30-odd people attacked commuters, set their vehicles ablaze, dragged women out who couldn't escape and raped them. Residents of Hassanpur and Kurad rushed to bring clothes and blankets for the victims.

Sukhdev dhaba too was attacked by these goons as they tried to set he eatery on fire but were stopped when locals intervened.

Meanwhile, others have also come out to share what they witnessed during the horrific attack. Another dhaba owner has said that women came and hid in his dhaba until they were escorted to a safe place.
