Jind, Jan 12: Haryana's Khedi Taloura village reported a death due to caste rivalry when a newly-elected Dalit Sarpanch was murdered on Sunday evening. The prime suspect is his upper-caste opponent who lost to him by a small margin.
The victim is identified as 45-year old Ramesh Yadav who is said to have sold his two lands to contest the polls. While the main accused, Vijay, is absconding, police have rounded up half a dozen people who have been identified by the victim's family.
