Haridwar gets to see 'World Peace Violin'
Haridwar, Oct 7: A spiritual leader from the US is here with a "World Peace Violin" whose parts have come from 11 countries, including India.

"Haridwar is the place where anyone can find peace of mind," Patrick McCollum, an interfaith chaplain, said at a spiritual event here.

Around 2,000 delegates from 20 countries took part in the festival of yoga, culture and spirituality orginased by Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidhyalaya here. The meet ended Monday.

Addressing one of its sessions, McCollum said to applause: "India's spiritual richness, including yoga, sets it apart from other countries."

He explained that the wood, spring and even the paint that have gone into making his "World Peace Violin" have been collected from 11 countries.

The back portion of the instrument made of wood has been procured from Africa, the front side is from California and the springs from Nepal, said McCollum.

Other portions of the violin are drawn from Thailand and Jordan while the polish came from Japan.

The main components of the violin including chords have been brought from India, Canada, Israel and Japan, he added.

McCollum wants to play this unique violin at the Nobel prize function in 2015.
