New Delhi, April 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party is on a roll. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi as its mascot, the BJP does not need anyone else to win elections after elections across the country.

As the BJP is all set to sweep the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections 2017 on Wednesday, one thing is clear, voters are firmly backing PM Modi as a pan-India leader, who should be the country's ultimate mukhiya (chief)--right from the panchayat to Parliament.

PM Modi

After every election win, party leaders chant the same line and credit the PM Modi sarkar for its victory. Since 2014, BJP candidates are always seen seeking votes in the name of PM Modi and voters too know it well that they are not voting the candidate (whosoever), but PM Modi.

Be it the massive election win in the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand assembly polls in March or civic body elections in the national capital, PM Modi remained in the heart of every election campaign and win of the BJP.

In the last few years, election campaigns of the BJP--right from local body to assembly polls-- surround around PM Modi and his policies. The voters also vote for PM Modi and his strong governance, say poll pundits. All the recent election victories of the BJP are mandate for the PM Modi government in Delhi. "These are PM Modi's victory, not the BJP's," says a political analyst.

This time, allegations of corruption and misgovernance against the incumbent BJP in the MCD polls were rife. The Aam Aadmi Party sought votes in the name of removing the "corrupt" BJP from the civic body. However, allegations remained mere allegations, as the residents of Delhi have once again trusted the BJP (or should we say PM Modi) to govern them.

PM Modi personally did not campaign for the saffron party during the MCD polls, but every BJP leaders kept the PM at the centre of their speeches during campaigning.

"For the MCD polls, I interacted with lakhs of people and saw anger in their eyes against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for obstructing development in Delhi. People showed great enthusiasm, however, for the programmes and schemes of PM Modi," said Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari.

The BJP campaigning for the MCD polls focused on the image and achievements of PM Modi with the party hoping to return back to rule the civic bodies third time in a row. The strategy of the BJP paid well by keeping PM Modi as their focal point. It looks like in the coming assembly elections in states like Gujarat, Tripura and Karnataka, the BJP's "hero" will be once again PM Modi.

The popular slogan of the BJP--Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi (hail Modi, as he is in every house)-- in praise of PM Modi is the current reality of India, as PM Modi's rule has spread across the country, literally.
