Aizawl, Oct 4: Mizoram Governor Lt General Nirbhay Sharma today said more flights in the northeastern sector will be helpful in the implementation of the Centre's Look-Act East policy.
Sharma flagged off the first flight of Spicejet Airlines at the lone Lengpui Airport near Aizawl and hoped that the airlines would start morning flights for people flying to Delhi.
With the entry of Spicejet, three airlines are now operating flights connecting Lengpui Airport. The other two are Air India and Jet Airlines.
Spicejet Airlines officials said that a 78-seater Q400 aircraft will fly on the Kolkata-Aizawl-Guwahati route on a daily basis from today.
