Srinagar, July 12: As the Union Government tries to find a solution to the Kashmir problem through a consensus, an all party meet will be held to discuss the issue.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is likely to convene a high level meeting in which he will take stock of the sitiuation. There is a likelihood that an all party meeting will be held at Kashmir once calm returns.
The focus for now is to bring the situation under control. Highly placed sources tell OneIndia that every possible angle would be explored to ensure that peace and calm returns to the Valley.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval who cut short his Africa visit returned to New Delhi yesterday and held meetings with both the Home and Defence Ministers. The government will all concerted moves to find a solution to the problem, the official added.
Further the officer also said that the union government was in contact with the state government. Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has called upon opposition leaders in the state to help find solutions to the ongoing problem.
Kashmir has been on the boil since Hizbul Mujahideen commander Abdul Burhan Wani was shot dead in an encounter.
For now the priority would be to bring the situation under control. In the protests several youth under the age of 26 have died while over 100 security personnel have been injured.
Incidents of looting stone pelting and abducting a constable too have been reported from the state. Government officials however say that they were not caught off guard following the death of Burhan.
Security was in place at Tral and Pulwama where he has a strong support base. However violence erupted in other parts of the state as well which caught the security mechanism off guard.
