Hisar, Nov 20: Five women and an infant lost their lives during the clash between his followers and police ahead of his arrest. He allegedly had taken more than 20,000 people into hostage and forced them to shield him from the cops. Even Sri Sri Ravi Shankar faced humiliation while trying to communicate with him.
Self-styled godman Rampal, who is well-known as Sant Rampal, once had snapped Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's phone call. Turning to micro-blogging site Twitter, the spiritual leader on Wednesday, Nov 19 tweeted, "Events like this cause fear and disgust for religion and spirituality."
Sri Sri also wrote, "leaders should not think they were above the law. Simplicity and sacrifice should drive the leaders."
