The other MLAs sworn in as ministers are from the Goa Forward Party, the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and two independent legislators.
After much drama in the Supreme Court, Manohar Parrikar was finally sworn in as the chief minister of Goa. He along with nine members took oath on Tuesday and interestingly other than Parrikar, only two others were BJP MLAs.
The two BJP MLAs who took oath on Tuesday are Francis D'Souza and Pandurang Madkaikar. The other MLAs sworn in as ministers are from the Goa Forward Party, the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and two independent legislators.
Vijai Sardesai, Vinod Palienkar and Jayesh Salgaonkar are from the Goa Forward Party. Sudin Dhavalikar and Manohar Azgaonkar are from the MGP while Govind Gawde and Rohan Khaunte are independents.
Parrikar would add more ministers into his council after the floor test which will be held on March 16, Thursday at 11 am. The Congress had moved the Supreme Court to stall the swearing in ceremony. The court, however, refused to grant a stay but ordered that the floor test would be held on Thursday.
