US: Ganesh puja, garba dance, diwali -- Indian students create mini India in Los Angeles
Association of Indian Students at the University of Southern California (AIS at USC) in Los Angeles has created a mini India in the foreign land. At least 500 students are the members of the association. USC in Los Angeles is one of the most popular hubs for students from India.
Recently, AIS at USC celebrated Ganesh festival on Aug 29. Many Indian as well as foreign students gathered at the venue to celebrate one of the biggest festivals of India.
The student association is all set to celebrate other Indian festivals
A priest was invited to perform the puja. Students, who attended the Ganesh puja organised by the association, stated that it reminded them the festivals back at home. The much appreciated puja was followed by an impressive dinner and a roaring success.
After Ganesh puja, now the student association is all set to celebrate other Indian festivals such as garba dance, diwali. The association also organises fun festivals such as Pani Puri fest and Social Mixer.
