Furlough granted to actor Sanjay Dutt, Maha govt demands probe
Pune, Dec 26: The Maharashtra government has said that it will investigate the 14-day furlough, which is a temporary leave of absence, granted to actor Sanjay Dutt. The actor has been serving jail after being convicted for illegal possession of arms in connection with 1993 Mumbai blast. He came out from Pune's Yerwada Central Jail on Wednesday after being granted the furlough.
Convicted under the Arms Act in 2013, Dutt is said to have spent 118 days out of jail, either on parole or furlough between May 2013 and May 2014.
He has already said to have served 18 months of his five-year jail term.
