Former BSP MLA sentenced for 10 yrs in rape case
Lucknow, June 5: Former BSP MLA Purushottam Naresh Dwivedi has been found guilty in an alleged rape case of a teenage Dalit girl. A CBI court on Friday sentenced him for 10 years under IPC section 376.
Reportedly, his two aides --Rajendra Shukla and Surendra Neta have also been convicted under various IPC sections.
Dwivedi, an MLA from Naraini seat was arrested on January 13, 2011 from Banda after absconding for days.

A
Dalit
girl
was
allegedly
raped
on
December
10-11,
2010
at
the
legislators's
residence.
She escaped from the MLA's house on December 12 when the MLA allegedly attempted rape for the third time and was arrested same day on theft charges.
She told her brother about the incident when she was produced before the court on December 24 in connection with theft charges.
Girl levelled the rape charge before the court on January 10, 2015 and it ordered immediate action.
