FIR charged against MP Gov: HC stays order
Bhopal, April 17: Ram Naresh Yadav, the MP governor was charged with an FIR in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examinations Board (MPPEB) scam by the Madhya Pradesh Special Task Force. However, the order was reserved by the High court on Friday.
Chief justice A M Khanwilkar and justice Rohit Arya, issuing a stay order on the FIR, reserved the detailed orders in the case, during the petition hearing of Yadav.
Yadav, in his petition, said that under section 361(1) and (2) of the constitution, the president and the Governor are exempted of criminal proceedings.
Mahendra Pareira, a counsel of the Governor said,"Court has stayed the FIR registered by STF and reserved its detailed order for future. As of now, the stay has been ordered so that the normal functioning of the Governor is not affected," one of the counsel for governor, Mahendra Pateira told TOI.
Ram Naresh Yadav was earlier booked by the STF in the forest guards recruitment scam.
