Fake tweet on PM Modi in Germany: News agency clarifies 'photoshopped' tweet
New Delhi, April 14: The news agency Asian News International (ANI) on Tuesday, April 14, was caught in an embarrassed situation over a photoshopped tweet on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A tweet, posted at 12.14 am, saying, "My love for Germany goes way back. When I was a small boy in Guj, my only friend was a german shephard: PM #ModiInGermany" was posted at ANI's Twitter handle. [Make in India needs new infrastructure: PM Modi in Germany]
The news agency, at 3.27 pm, clarified saying, "This is a photoshopped tweet. ANI has got nothing to do with it. Legal action will be taken against those responsible."
According to FirstPost report, the news agency filed an FIR with the Economic Offences wing and cyber cell of Delhi Police. ANI said that they will take legal action against those responsible for the prank.
The tweet that went viral among media circuit got 1,609 retweets.
