Expelled Aiadmk MP wants CBI to probe Jayalalithaa's death
Sasikala Pushpa filed a writ petition in the SC seeking a CBI inquiry into Jayalalithaa's death. Her petition comes days after she moved the Madras HC to stop Sasikala Natarajan from taking over party
Expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court seeking a CBI inquiry into J Jayalalithaa's death. The petition seeks a thorough inquiry from the day of Jayalalithaa hospitalization on September 22 till the day her death was announced.
In her petition the expelled MP has said that the people of Tamil Nadu suspect that Sasikala's family had a role to play in Jayalalithaa's death and hence an impartial inquiry was required.
Her petition comes days after she moved the Madras High Court to stop Sasikala Natarajan from taking over the reigns of AIADMK as its general secretary. Sasikala Pushpa was one of the first to seek transparency of Jayalalithaa's health condition when she was being treated at Apollo hospital.
This is the second petition filed in the SC seeking an inquiry into the former Tamil Nadu chief minister's death. A Chennai based NGO had earlier sought an inquiry by the CBI in its petition.
