"Our vote share went to the Akalis and Congress won in Punjab. Victory to Akali would have made it too obvious. They (BJP) only wanted to keep AAP out," alleged Arvind Kejriwal claiming that EVM tampering led to AAP's loss in Punjab and Goa assembly polls.

EVMs allowed votes to be stolen, alleges Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal claimed that EVMs were tampered with and his party's votes were stolen in Punjab. Acknowledging that it was too late to ask for elections in Goa and Punjab to be declared void, Kejriwal said that he was speaking out about possibilities of EVMs being tampered with for future purposes. "Through the EVM, is it possible that 25-30% vote share meant for AAP was transferred to SAD-BJP alliance," Kejriwal said while addressing a press conference.

Kejriwal claimed that the Supreme court had also the knowledge that EVMs could be tampered with and asked for a probe into the same. "Developed countries have given up EVMs. Should we not rethink. Even the BJP, including Advaniji, had said EVMs can be tampered with," he said.

The AAP chief asked the election commission to not shirk from its responsibility and ensure investigations to win people's faith. "Many said that there is anger against Akali's and AAP is sweeping polls, still, AAP got 25% votes & SAD got 31%, how is it possible?" he asked hinting at a conspiracy to defeat his party.

He insisted that the Election Commission count slips of VVPAT and match it with the figures of EVM results and check if it matches. Kejriwal said that crosschecking will increase people's trust.
