Engineer in ISIS captivity returns to India
New Delhi, Oct 2: It was a quiet home coming for an engineer from India who was in ISIS captivity. Prabhas Samal, a biomedical engineer was abducted by the ISIS in Sirte Libya last month.
After hectic efforts by the Indian government led by National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, Samal finally managed to return to the safety of his home at Karilopatna in Kendrapara district, Odisha.

Describing his ordeal, Samal said that he along with three others were taken to an un-disclosed location after being blindfolded. There was one more Indian with me. However I was released and after that I managed to reach the Indian embassy in Tripoli. From here arrangements were made for my return to India.
The return of Samal comes as a major relief for the Indian Government. The Indian government has been making efforts to secure the release of all Indians who are reportedly in ISIS captivity.
Recently the prime minister raised the issue of 39 Indians who were taken hostage by the ISIS almost a year back . The government of India has been assured that all the Indians are safe.
