Embarrassment for PM Modi! AAP chief Kejriwal offers MLA fund for toilet in BJP office
Reports say that Kejriwal has offered help in constructing a toilet at the BJP's Delhi unit office on 14, Pandit Pant Marg. The AAP leader has written a letter to the chief of NDMC and expressed his concern over the issue. This could be a big embarrassment to incumbent party who started this clean India campaign with bang some times back. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's innovative initiative was highly applauded.
The AAP leader is supporting his cause saying that the BJP office falls in his assembly zone, and offered the MPLAD fund for the same.
"Though it is the office of the BJP, it falls under my constituency. I want to rise above politics and offer funds from my MLA LAD for the construction of a bio-digestible, four-unit toilet for women on the premises", letter to NDMC reads.
It is being said that women folks of the BJP office have this grievances that the toilet facility is not up to the mark and many a times they have to go out to answer the nature's call. Earlier they were promised that the problem will be solved, but things still not moving in that pace.
According to the Indian Express, when asked about this major issue in August, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay had said, "I have come to know about the problem. The toilets need to be reconstructed, which we will do soon."
Seeing matter going out of hand, BJP media co-convener Praveen Shankar Kapoor has promised to start work in the direction.
"Kejriwal should stop worrying about other parties and take care of his party workers who do not have a permanent office yet. We will start work on the toilet from Wednesday," Kapoor said as quoted by Express.
