Embarrassment for AAP: Kondli MLA Manoj Kumar arrested for cheating; sent to 2-day police remand
New Delhi, Jul 9: In a fresh embarrassment for ruling AAP government in Delhi, police on Thursday arrested MLA from Kondli, Manoj Kumar, under charges of cheating and forgery. A Delhi court has sent Kumar into two-day police remand.
According to ANI, Manoj Kumar has four FIRs against him and is being probed on the charges of cheating and forgery, instigating security forces and misbehaving with woman.
"This is an old matter related to some land fraud, investigating officer is questioning Manoj Kumar as of now," Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi, told ANI.

While Kumar's counsel HS Phoolka has termed the arrest as a police bias.
"Manoj Kumar said when he was not an MLA police did nothing. Now when he is an MLA police arrested. Its biased," HS Phoolka told ANI.

Kumar's arrest comes as a fresh embarrassment to the party, who's another MLA Jitender Singh Tomar is in police custody for possessing fake law degree.
Reacting to the news, Congress's Sharmistha Mukherjee told ANI, "It is absolutely astounding how could he get involved in assaulting somebody."
"Police must have taken all legalities into consideration,its real face of AAP," said Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay.
