The Delhi police cannot crack T T V Dinakaran's calls. The calls between Dinakaran and Sukesh Chandrasekhar were made on an encrypted WhatsApp network and this may be tough for the cops to breach

For three days now TTV Dinakaran and his associates are being questioned in the alleged Election commission bribery row.

Encrypted phone calls made on WhatsApp is proving to be a challenge for officials of the Delhi crime branch. Delhi police sources said that all calls made between TTV Dinakaran, his associates and the alleged middleman Sukesh Chandrasekhar were on WhatsApp calling.

The voice calls on the messaging apps is encrypted much like its text communication and the same has become a hurdle in the investigation. While the Delhi police sources said that TTV Dinakaran confessed that he had met Sukesh Chandrasekhar, not much is known about the conversations that the duo had.

WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption policy on all its messages, voice calls and video calls add raised concerns on security from many corners. The Supreme Court too is hearing a petition on the same issue. It is stated in the petition due to the high level of encryption it poses a security risk.

The concern now seems very real for the Delhi police who are unable to crack the conversations that took place between TTV Dinakaran and Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The police are now compelled to rely on the accused persons' statements.
