EC scrutinises poll code violation by Mamata Banerjee
"We are scrutinising the reports and we will send the complaint to Delhi," an EC official said today. It was alleged that during an election meeting a few days ago the Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief made provocative comments against the BJP and the CPI(M). The CPI(M) lodged a complaint against Banerjee with the Election Commission.

Meanwhile, commenting on TMC's complaint against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for alleged presence of school students at an election rally at Alipurduar recently, he said, "We do have a report. We are looking into it."
Recently, Dev, TMC's candidate from Ghatal constituency in West Midnapore district of West Bengal, courted controversy by saying in an interview that the intense focus on his candidature made him feel like being raped. He also said that one either enjoys or shout when raped. A woman's organisation of the CPI(M) moved the poll panel against the actor-politician and the later sought a CD from the media house to which Dev gave the interview to assess the gravity of the charges.
