Doors should always remain open for the public: Mehbooba advises PDP
Jammu and Kashmir, Mar 25: Even as PDP's Mehbooba Mufti gets set to take over as the first woman chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, she has a directive to all those who will be part of the ministry.
Mehbooba who will meet with the Governor of the state and stake a claim to form the government had made it clear that there would be regular assessments of the performances by all the ministery.
Each one would be assessed on the basis of their work and also public availability, she told her legislators at a meeting.
I believe in working at the grass root level and all the ministers and MLAs should also follow the same, she told her party workers.
It is more important that the ministers step out and meet with the people and solve the problems. None should have a constituency specific approach, she has also said.
She further hinted that new faces could be added to the cabinet.
Mehbooba said that she would introduce some young MLAs into the cabinet while the seniors would be given a larger responsibility and would have to undertake party work.
However the message was clear to her party workers that the doors should always remain open to the public and if there are complaints she would not hesitate to act.
