Lodged in Chanakyapuri police station, the MP (representing the Jaunpur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh) has been given the rest room of a sub-inspector and his wife Jagriti has been assigned the rest room of an aassistant commissioner.
Sources said,"Home food is never allowed for the accused. They are getting lunch from home but breakfast and dinner is served from the police canteen."
While the MP has been booked and arrested for destroying evidence and violating the Juvenile Justice Act, his wife has been charged with murder, attempt to murder and violating the Juvenile Justice Act.
"During interrogation, she (Jagriti) broke down once. Now she is her normal self and talks with the police station staff. But the MP rarely speaks. When he does, it is mostly to senior officers," the source added. However, there is no remorse in their attitude, that same source added.
According to police, Jagriti (who is also a senior doctor with the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital) beat up Rakhi (35) and Rampal (17) on Sunday noght over a petty issue. They were hot repeatedly with rods, sticks, iron press and antlers of dead animal.
The Delhi police received a call from the MP's 175 South Avenue house, informing about Rakhi's death. The MP had himself called them, but had tried to misguide the police investigations.
