The leader of opposition in Tamil Nadu assembly and DMK's working president M K Stalin said that his MLAs will vote against Palanisamy if the latter seeks a vote of confidence on Saturday. It is a do or die for Sasikala Natarajan's proxy Edappadi Palanisamy to protect his Chief Minister post when the special sitting of the state assembly begins.
"All our MLAs will vote against Palanisamy if he seeks a vote of confidence in the assembly tomorrow. People from all walks of life have been adversely affected due to the political crisis in the state," he said. 88 MLAs of the DMK are expected to vote against Palanisamy since M Karunanidhi will not be present during the session.
The Tamil Nadu Congress, that was in talks with the DMK, has also decided to oppose Palanisamy with the 8 MLAs they have in the Tamil Nadu assembly. While Sasikala camp claims that all MLAs herded in the resort, 119 in total, will vote in favour of Palanisami, other AIADMK MLAs like Mylapore MLA Natraj have made their opposition to Palanisamy vocal and pledged support to Panneerselvam.
For the second time in less than 30 years, Tamil Nadu assembly will witness a floor test. The previous floor test was also a result of political uncertainty that AIADMK threw up after Dr M G Ramachandran's death.
