Direct guv to ensure government formation in TN, SC petitioned
The petition alleges that there has been a delay on part of the governor in inviting the single largest party
A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a direction to the governor to speed up process relating to the formation of a government in Tamil Nadu. The petition alleges that there has been a delay on part of the governor in inviting the single largest party to form the government. The court is likely to hear the matter on Tuesday.
AIADMK interim general secretary Sasikala Natarajan has alleged that there is a delay in the governor inviting her to form the government. She said that the delay is aimed at splitting the AIADMK. Sasikala has carted away several MLAs to a resort as feared that they would be poached by her rival and state Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.
The petitioner states that there has been no government in Tamil Nadu for over a week now. "There is an inordinate delay and this was not good for the state. Hence a direction may be issued to the governor to invite the leader of the single largest party to form a government," the petitioner states.
