New Delhi, Nov 23: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has taken a dig at Mulayam Singh Yadav, saying that the latter did not celebrate his birthday due to the banning of high value currency notes and not because of the Kanpur train tragedy, as claimed by Samajwadi Party, ANI reported.
Mulayam was born on November 22, 1939 at Saifai village in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh and the party generally celebrates his birthday with great pomp and show.
Last year's birthday celebrations saw the participation of many bollywood bigwigs, including a music concert by A.R. Rahman.
Indore-Patna Express derailment near Kanpur left over 140 people dead, after which party's state president Shivpal Yadav announced that 'Netaji' will not be celebrating his birthday.
