Did Lashkar and Hizbul come together for Udhampur attack?

New Delhi, Sept 12: Did the Hizbul Mujahideen help the Lashkar-e-Tayiba in the Udhampur attack? Although both these groups have one common intention where Kashmir is concerned, they have many times operated independently.

The NIA names Moin Kachroo alias Altaf Dar alias Kachroo as one of the persons from the Hizbul Mujahideen who helped stage and carry out the Udhampur attack.

However going by the investigations into the Udhampur attack being conducted by the National Investigation Agency, it appears as though some of the Hizbul operatives had helped the Lashkar.

The NIA has been trying to ascertain the local link in Kashmir which helped the attackers from Pakistan carry out the Udhampur attack.

The NIA has so far questioned Mohammad Naved, a Paksitani national, Khurshid Bhat and Showakat Bhat, both locals of Kashmir who have allegedly been aiding the Lashkar members.

The NIA on the basis of the investigations conducted has prepared a list of six persons who have provided help to the attackers of the Udhampur attack. The NIA has released the list of persons who have assisted Naved during the Udhampur attack.

According to the NIA the six persons had carried out tasks in various capacities on the instructions of Abu Kasim who was the handler of the entire operation. The NIA also announced a reward for information relating to each of these persons.
