Delhi election 2015: Delhi sees record polling with 67.21% turnout

New Delhi, Feb 7: With faith in Narendra Modi and hope in Arvind Kejriwal, Delhiites cast their votes in the Delhi assembly election on Saturday, February 7, 2015.

While Arvind Kejriwal is the Aam Aadmi Party's CM candidate in this election, the BJP's counter-candidate is Kiran Bedi. Ajay Maken is face of the Congress in this election.

A total of 673 candidates are in the fray for the 70-member assembly, which is witnessing its second election in a over a year following a hung verdict in December 2013. Sixty-three contestants are women.

Over 13.3 million voters are eligible to vote. Some 5.9 million of them are females. [Delhi Election 2015: Complete Coverage]

8.12 pm: Delhi sees record polling with 67.21% turnout, its highest ever.

6.55 pm: 67% voter turnout in Delhi till 6 pm.

6:50 pm: In view of heavy voter turnout,EC extends voting time beyond previous schedule.Those who entered booths before 6 pm also can vote.

1.25 pm: 35.82% polling recorded till 1 pm. Turnout will be over 70%, expects Election Commission
