Delhi: Teacher arrested for raping five students

New Delhi, April 29: The Delhi Police arrested a government school teacher on Tuesday for sexually harassing five girl students.

The matter came to the fore when the parents of the girls staged a protest outside the school premises in Jahangirpuri in northwest Delhi. The police detained some protesters to maintain law and order.

A Delhi-based businessman is alleged to have raped a 7-year old girl in his shop in Harsh Vihar area, luring her with Rs 10.

According to police, 27-year old Rajesh raped the minor in his shop on Monday. The incident came to light when the victim narrated everything to her parents. Following this, the parents beat him up before handing him to the police.

A case was registered against the accused under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 7, 8 and 9 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
