New Delhi, Jan 21: Delhi Police found a dead body of an unidentified woman in a suitcase which was found abandoned in an e rickshaw. Police found the bag on Wednesday, Jan 21.
According to eye witnesses, the woman was must be in her mid 20s. Police suspect that it might be case of sexual assault or honour killing.
Delhi police official first found the bag on the e-rickshaw near a metro station. When the cop asked the rickshaw driver to open the bag, both of them were shocked to find the body of the woman.
According to experts, the woman might have been strangulated to death at least a day back as her body had already started to decompose.
After grilling the e-rickshaw driver, police came to know that a man had asked the driver to carry the bag to the metro station. He was also told that the man would follow him in his own vehicle.
However, when he reached the metro station, he could not find the man around. Hence, he left the e-rickshaw to find the man. Meanwhile, the police official noticed the bag on the e-rickshaw.
A murder case has been registered and police said they have identified the suspected man who asked rickshaw driver to carry the bag till metro station.
Meanwhile, police started investigating all recent missing reports as they have not received any identity proof of the deceased. The woman was wearing a jeans and a kurta. No mobile phone was found with the body. There was also a muffler wrapped around her neck, police said.
The body of the woman has already been sent to forensic laboratory. Police will confirm the cause of death once they receive the post-mortem report.
