The news over the same was shared by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Twitter.
The NDMC's move comes days after BJP's national secretary Mahesh Girri urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Aurangzeb Road in central Delhi be renamed after former president Kalam who passed away earlier last month.

"In my opinion, this will be a great way of preserving his memories and legacy forever," said Girri, the East Delhi MP, after meeting PM to whom he submitted a formal proposal in this regard.
The entire nation is mourning the death of Bharat Ratna Kalam. He inspired millions of youth across the country as well as dedicated his whole life for the progress of India," he added.
The 83-year-old former president died on Monday in Shillong, Meghalaya, after suffering a heart attack while delivering a lecture at a management school. Kalam was laid to rest on Thursday at Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu.
