Delhi: Imran Khan meets PM Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Dec 11: Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan's Tehreek-e-Insaf Party, today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here during which both expressed the hope that the recent developments would lead to closer cooperative ties between the two countries.

"At his request," Khan, who is also Member of Parliament in Pakistan, called on the Prime Minister, a PMO statement said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in a meeting in New Delhi.

The cricketer-turned-politician invited the Prime Minister to visit Pakistan. "In the courtesy call, they welcomed the recent developments in bilateral relations and expressed the hope that these would lead to closer cooperative ties between the two countries," the statement said.

India and Pakistan on Wednesday broke the ice in bilateral ties when they decided to have a comprehensive dialogue during the visit of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to Islamabad.
