Communal violence in Trilokpuri.
New Delhi, Oct 28: Society generally mocks at transgenders, but they have made a huge contribution in restoring peace in the riot-hit Trilokpuri in New Delhi.

As per a TOI report, "A mob armed with swords and stones charged towards Block 35, the eunuchs stood at the entrance and threatened to start taking off their clothes if the angry men didn't turn back."

Because of this threat the angry mob backed off. This threat is often used by eunuchs to extort money from people on various ocassions but this time it was to stop the violence in the riot-hit area of Delhi.

Not only this, they were seen removing stones from the road which people hurled at each other while the fight between Hindus and Muslims was on in the area.

As the sanitation staff is not coming in the area after the violence, these eunuchs have also started a sanitation drive to clean the streets.

As per the report, they also guard the gates of the blocks by taking turns so that no more incidents of violence take place.

According to eminent social activist and Shahdara MLA Jeetendra Singh Shanty, when he went there to appeal for peace in the region, he saw how these eunuchs were cleaning the roads alongwith the police.

Residents of the riot-hit Trilokpuri area say that people don't even like to talk to these eunuchs in normal days but now they have emerged as real heroes for people in the area.
